I have received several questions about what I do with all of the $.08 Kraft Salad Dressings I bought at Walmart last week. Last year I stocked up on dressings in a similar deal and became very creative with those dressings!
One great way to utilize Italian dressing is to use it as a marinade for steaks, chicken and shrimp. My husband is a certified chef and tells me meats that are marinated before grilling are more tender. Just marinate overnight and grill! If you buy a large quantity of meat that you are going to freeze, just toss them in a ziplock bag with the Italian dressing and then freeze. They will marinate while they are thawing out when you need them.
Reuben sandwiches go great with the thousand island dressing. And my kids love to dip their veggies in ranch/light ranch dressing. Blue cheese is also a must for the hot wing lover.
But if you want to use your dressings in the most frugal fashion, you'll want to try out my recipe for pasta salad! I first made this last summer and everything I put in the salad was free or extremely cheap after a coupon. The beauty of the recipe is that it tastes great with whatever you have on hand! The items I've listed are just some of the possibilities.
Easy Kraft Dressing Pasta Salad Recipe
Toss 16-oz. cooked pasta and 3/4 to a full bottle of regular or creamy Italian dressing with your favorite pasta salad items: cubed ham, halved cherry tomatoes, green peppers, onions, cubed cheese. Other items you could substitute or add: olives, pepperoni, salami, scallions, etc.
If you like Suddenly Salad you can replicate those easily using similar ingredients! Enjoy!
