I have been wanting to plant a tree in my backyard ever since we moved into our house 4 years ago! I just never got around to it, or had the money at the time to do it. Our backyard has no shade during the day, making it so hot to sit out. I would love to win the $100 to tackle this project!
Thanks for the chance to win,
Kristin

I would love to build a raised garden bed. We opted to plant a few tomato plants in some planters that we already had but if I had the money for more plants I would definitely do the garden bed project!
Thanks!
My husband and I built our house a few years ago and we ran out of money when it came time to put in a lawn. We have been determined not to go into debt to do this project either. Last year we were all set to put in a lawn when my husband lost his job. Well this year we were finally able to save enough money, and not have any major issues come up, to put in a lawn. Once the lawn is in I really want to start creating a few garden beds. At the moment the money that we have saved will be going to the lawn and there won't be much left over to start the gardens. This $100 would be a huge step in creating a yard that we can use and enjoy.
My husband and I have to re-do all the landscaping in our front yard. It looks terrible. I would like to plant a tree and perhaps a raised garden bed. Anything would look better than what the previous owners left us with.
shelbywinchell@gmail.com
Well, since yard work is something my hubby and I are terrible at (!), basically every inch of our yard could use a make-over. We have 2 littles, so I love the idea of the ring toss game! Probably the best use of the $100 would be to re mulch our islands and actually plant some pretty flowers in them.
katiemusic@bellsouth.net
I'd love to learn how to make a raised bed. I've been wanting to have a small vegetable garden- right now I have some herbs planted sporadically- but would love to organize and do it right. $100 would be a great way to get this project going! :)
amtami08 (at) yahoo (dot) com
I would love to tackle some tree planting. Trees are such an expensive investment to not get it right!
I'd do the storage bench. I'd like to finally build something that looks nice (unlike my previous attempts!) and prize money would be a good excuse to expand the tool chest (though the compound miter saw might have to just be rented for now).

The DIY projects on Home Depot Garden Club website are all great but my husband and I would love to build a raised garden bed.

Great idea Mich, if anyone else wants to tweet about my giveaway, I'll give you an extra entry!
I would love to win this gift card in order to give my home some curb appeal. I need to plant some flowers in order to give my property some color and also plant some grass. My house not only needs a pant job but also some color added to my flower beds. I would LOVE to win this giveaway. THANK YOU FOR ALL YOUR HARD WORK AND GREAT DEALS. eschell@verizon.net
I mean paint job. OOPS
Eschell@verizon.net
We're trying to be more frugal AND committed to the environment by growing as much of our own food as possible, and getting most of the rest of our edibles at the local's farmers market. I've started many vegetables seeds, but still need to finish preparing the raised beds to put them in. I would like to plant a few fruit trees, too. We plan to "tithe" a portion of our fresh produce to some needy families and some eldery singles in a local eldercare apartments who might not be able to afford fresh fruits and vegetables. I'd love the gift card to use toward that end. Thanks for your consideration!

I would love to plant a raised garden bed. It would be perfect to plant a small organic vegetable garden.

I would LOVE to tackle the DIY project: Starting veggies from seed indoors. I've been wanting to start a garden for years. Now that my husband has been away for 16 months (military) with 7 more months to go - I really need to save money! But...more than that...it would give back to the Earth AND most importantly, give my four year old son something fun to do with mommy. So - it would save us money by providing us with home grown food and by creating an activity we could do together!!
jamieandandre at bellsouth dot net
I would love to learn how to start a garden bed that would grow veggies and starting seeds indoors.
But I would use the $100 for the DIY Picnic Table for the whole family outside and maybe add a hammock!! I've already "requested" one for Mother's Day:)
My wife has been on me about planting some trees around our house, so after going to the Home Depot site and reading about planting trees the project does not seem to be that big of a deal so if I win the hundred bucks we will have some trees around the house.
cmurray@curtze.com
I would love to win the hundred dollars so I could purchase the necessary plants to have a perfect raised garden.
chaddm88@att.blackberry.net
I have three dogs and every year I try to grow a few tomato plants in the back of my yard. The male dog feels the need to help water my poor plants and they never seem to be able to survive the trauma. I'd love to build the raised garden bed and then buy some fencing to keep momma's furry helper out of my tomatoes.
I also liked the article on starting new lawn from seed. There's a whole section of grass the dogs must have decided needed replacing since they've dug a few pits guaranteed to take out an ankle if you step in one.

Oh I want to try the: Training a vine over an arbor. We have an old arbor that the previous owners didn't take care of and now we are stuck with it. It can actually be quite beautiful if we fix it up but we had no clue how to start. These article gave some good tips.
that is a great website. Thank you for the link. I would use the gift card to do a raised bed garden. Each year I am doing more and more in the garden and learning bit by bit. kansasharpist at yahoo dot com
I would love to put down pavers in the back yard for a grilling area. Also, to plant more trees. I would like some fruit trees for my new orchard. $100.00 would make this into a reality! Thanks for the chance!
rhondamm@windstream.net
Definitely planting some trees. We've been talking about it for several years and for some reason it just doesn't seem to get done.
we'd put it towards the tree that died. :-(

rsmile2u @dejazzd. com
i'd use it to buy a new tree for our back yard and probably some more grass seed & fertilizer for our lawn!

I'd use it to finally get out box vegetable garden going. It's been a box of dirt for too long and I've been procrastinating...this would be a great jumpstart for us!

p.s. Thank you!
I would use the gift card to landscape our yard. I would plant some trees and flowers and maybe even make a garden. Thanks for the great giveaway!
ticole96(at)msn(dot)com
I would love to see more color in my yard. The DIY Training a vine over an arbor looks like just the project to get that done. I can picture it now - beautiful blooms and wonderful fragrance.
If I had a $100 gift card to home depot, I would use it to buy grass seed and turf builder for our yard. It washed out after it was planted, and now I have horrible bare spots and weeds! YUCK!
Raised garden beds are something we are trying to work on around our place. I'd love winning to help with this project! :)
Awesome Give Away!
I'd like to have Hubby build that picnic table he's always meant to do so the 8 of us could eat outside this Summer under our favorite tree;)
allthingsfrugal (AT) hughes (dot) net
Blogged it hereThanks again:)
Lay a Garden Path, we just built our home and I think this idea would make our backyard feel like a cozy habitat to relax and enjoy.
heavncentt AT gmail DOT com.
I would love to build a raised bed and properly prepare it. we have a tiny garden but it's not in the sun as it should be.
then i'd buy the plants! yummy veggies!
gitrecca at gmail dot com
We need a new lawn mower since we have two yards to mow. We also are looking to buy some fertilizer to get rid of the weeds!!! So I don't kill the grass with round up! Such a great idea you come up with. Thanks a bunch for all your work. I couldn't have given this couponing lesson to a more energetic person!
Previous post... Connie at dbrown293@verizon.net Sorry!
I would love to start a garden this year. I think I could save so much money by growing my own food!
Actually several of the projects would apply to us right now. We are removing part of our yard to make way for a garden. That process has been slowed a bit by rain, but we are in the process. As well, we have tore out a section of crabgrass and have replanted with grass seed. We are also redoing some of our flowerbeds due to some construction/remodeling we did that damaged the beds from last year. Soooo, we have LOTS going on and this would be a huge blessing for us! Dannon
Starting veggies from seeds indoors and planting a tree. My child is so into growing and planting things and I haven't done it with him yet. What a great way to learn though. Thanks or the opportunity!
rbjj32825[at]lycos[dot]com
I'd spend the money on preparing a gardening bed and then buying all the raspberry bushes, strawberries, rhubarb, asparagus, and veggies to fill it. I'd also love it if the garden was surrounded by landscaping timbers!

'Installing pavers in sand' it would be..We already are planning to do it this summer..so $100 would totally help us..
I can't say this sounds like the most fun DIY project I found on their website but it's the most needed around here.
I would learn how to lay landscaping carpet (that's what they call it right?)
My hubs has had this project ongoing since last summer. All dug out but the carpet needs to be laid. We even have the mulch just waiting for the carpet...ugghhh...
WOW - this would be awesome to win. I would love the gift card to build a kids table and/or picnic table. Thanks for the chance!

We started a landscaping project and ran out of time and money to complete it. We got the plants in but still have pavers and a stone wall to finnish. My project would absolutely be the pavers in sand!

I was just mowing our grass (with a push mower nonetheless) this morning when I thought about adding a garden path to our backyard. Garden paths look so beautiful and it would be wonderful to have a little less grass to maintain!
My family is growing a veggie garden this year! $100 would buy alot of plants!

Starting veggies from seeds indoors is exactly what we would do with $100. Organic food is so expensive, so it's time to take matters into our own hands (and our own gardens) and start growing our own veggies!
Great Giveaway! Our yard needs work bad. When we bought our house all of the plants were dying in the front yard. I would use the gift card to plant new bushes in front of the house. rebecca6026@gmail.com

While looking at the website, I found a lot of great ideas! However I would put this gift card to use on stuff to prepare and maintain a vegetable garden! The cost of getting a garden up and going is tremendous! I would love to get a head start on it!
treeclimber428@yahoo.com
I like others would use the gift card to plant trees. We had a bad ice storm in February and lost a lot of trees. So I would love to replace them.~Amanda~

I am a gardening virgin and could really use help with my flower garden that I started 5 years ago and never finished due procrastination and my lack of knowledge about plants. I could use the 100 dollars to finally put an end to my weed growing flower bed.
hawj75-shopping@yahoo.com
I would like the preparing a garden bed, we are getting ready to do a garden at my mil house. Thanks for the contest!
WOW! Home Depot has a huge source of information that would come in great handy, since I am a bit illiterate to outdoor gardening! A few weeks ago, I started tearing into the front of my house's overgrown flower bed! It had perrenials that had overtaken the entire thing...I had no clue how to thin them, so I dug them all up! I could definitely use the $100 to help get my landscaping back in order! I need new mulch, edging and landscape lighting (which is the idea I got off the website!) Home Depot has some of the nicest landscape lighting I have seen! It would compliment the new sidewalk and steps that we are having put in next week! Thanks for this great chance!
sconway@mail.ocasd.org
It has always been a dream of mine to create a pond/waterfall, however I could never justify putting the cost of one into it! With the $100.00 gift card, that would cut the cost in half! I would use the gift card to purchase all of the supplies needed for a waterfall and pond! I know exactly which one I would buy! I have had it scoped out for quite some time now! I also already have the rocks needed to accessorize it :) With the extra money that I would have spent on the supplies, I could put towards flowers, fish and such to go in it! This is so exciting! Thanks!
gordon24luvr@yahoo.com
I would love to win the gift card in order to expand on our garden this year. Last year was the first and we are going to do it a little more organized this year! Thanks ecovell@zoominternet.net

I'd definitely be doing the "starting a new lawn from seed"! My dogs have dug up my backyard and I fear that it will never grow back at this point, so this would be a huge help.

My backyard is only about 2 years old and is already almost dead! Guess I didn't water it enough - oops! The How to Fertilize DIY project would be great for me since I really want a backyard that I can be proud of. My husband and I really want to have some cookouts this summer and having a nice lawn is a must before that can happen!
Jennifer :)
roxygirlie1021@yahoo.com
My sister could really use this for the How to Fertilize project! Her backyard looks terrible and it's no fun living here and not being able to enjoy being outside, especially since summer is almost here!

My wife says she wants a raised garden bed, I'm pretty sure I can handle that project with the directions from Home Depot's Garden Club. While I'm no woodworker, I'm thinking I could surprise her with the serving cart for her birthday, too.
My husband wants to chop down our cherry tree - weeping cherry that is! I'd love to buy a new tree, something flowering and plant it where the old one is.
Thanks for offering this giveaway!

I would enjoy building the bench for my daughter and grandkids!
jrewing47 @ yahoo . com
The project that I would most like to try out is: "How To Build A Raised Garden Bed".
Hubby and I have talked about wanting to grow more fresh vegetables for years. Maybe a $100 would be the best kick in the pants to actually get started on it!
K. Anne karmah (at) comcast (dot) net
I would love a raised garden bed for a cutting garden. I love to cut flowers and bring them in.
Last year, we began building our children a wooden swingset that was purchased at Home Depot! We got the majority of it finished, however our budget didn't permit some the "much needed" extras that you can add. If I was chosen as the winner of this gift card, I would finish the swingset by purchsing the tube slide and the rock wall to accessorize it! My kids would be forever grateful! Thanks for the chance!
thegman117@yahoo.com
My what great timing! We have just started our summer projects! If I was the winner of this $100.00 gift card, it would go to great use. We are in the process of landscaping the front of our house! We are in desperate need of many supplies.....weed barrier, topsoil, perrenials, mulch, edging, and solar lighting! I loved the ideas they gave on the website for solar lighting! I am going to be sure and take "before" pictures today because if I am the winner I will be so excited to email you the pictures of the finished product that the gift card was used for! Thanks for such an opportunity!
littleethanboy@yahoo.com
I would like to finally tackle our front yard by adding a raised flower bed along the front of our house.
I would plant some trees under the landscaping heading!
We have the front of our house that has never been landscaped. We have it tore up right now and need to buy some plants!
thanks for the giveaway
