We'll soon be a week into our summer vacation. We are planning to get lots of outdoor time in this summer, but my goal is to not skip reading or learning! There are some great Summer Reading programs available to encourage your child to read. Most of these programs provide the rewards for continued reading throughout the summer and they are for all ages. You may want to check these out:
Barnes & Noble Reading Program: Kids in grades 1-6 can read any 8 books and write about their favorite part. Bring those in to Barnes & Noble and choose a FREE book.
Join the Scholastic Summer Challenge
Half Price Books: Feed Your Brain Summer Reading Program: Kids ages 12 and under can earn a $3 Shopping Card for each week they read for at least 15 minutes per day!
Borders Reading Challenge: Kids ages 12 and under can read any eight books and receive 50% off an item listed on the worksheet.
Check with your local library. I know ours has a summer reading program for kids. Plus you can pick up books to read for FREE!
Plus, you'll want to keep the learning going all summer long with science and nature, math and more. FREE high quality printable worksheets are available here. Thanks, Noel.
