Accu-Chek Aviva Rebate: Possible Money-maker

Teresa from Money Saving Maine-iac let me know that she purchased the Accu-Chek Aviva Meter today at CVS and found a rebate inside. The rebate is for the amount of your purchase price up to $40. If you purchase the meter, priced at $10 and use the 8/23 SS insert coupon for $10, you'll get the meter FREE. Send in the rebate and possibly get $10 back for each purchase (not limited per household).

While getting a rebate on something that you got for FREE seems unlikely, it isn't rare for a company to send them out. This is a gamble but may be worth your 44 cent stamp to find out!

What do you do with a diabetes meter if you're not a diabetic? Donate them to nursing homes, homeless shelters, and friends or family with diabetes. Have you found a great place to donate new meters? Let us know! I give all of mine to my father-in-law and mother-in-law. They especially like the ones that come with test strips!

Another suggestion is to donate them to dialysis clinics. Alot of people on dialysis have diabetes.

Slick deal has a tag sale thread and said the meters sell very well for $3. I have alreadfy donated probaly over 100 or so of them. I have 3 in the kitchen. I'm going to try to sell them at the Tag sale.

My mom works for a small free health clinic. I donate the readers to her clinic.
