Here are a few CVS scenarios for FREE or cheap toilet paper as requested by several readers.  I have been stocking up on toilet paper at CVS for years and have always been able to get a year's supply during this 6 week bonus pack period.  This year I am taking advantage of the Cottonelle-$12.88, and Charmin- $12.99 both producing $4 ECB.

Scenario #1 - Easy
Buy 3 Soyjoy Bonus Pack Boxes @ $6 each = $18
Cottonelle $12.88

Pay $25.38 in Extra Bucks
Receive:  $22 in ECB ($18 from SoyJoy, $4 from Cottonelle)
Final:  $3.38

Scenario #2 - Totally FREE!
Cottonelle $12.88
Buy 6 Oust $3.99 each = $23.94

I didn't get an ECB for my Charmin! But I got a 50 cent ECB just by scanning at the door. The person before me got an $8.50 one and didn't take it!

So, correct me if I’m wrong...on the first scenario, we pay $25.38 out of pocket correct? Not in extra care bucks? (if you don’t have any already). Then you receive $22.00 in ecb which you could use to pay for scenario #2 and then you get back $22.00 in ecb again which you could use for other items another time? Is that how it works? I’m so confused. Do cashiers let you do this back to back?

I've tried to read through "getting started" doing this but I can't make heads or tails. I need help! LOL.

Rachel,
$5 ECB's are basically a coupon for $5 off of a $5 or less purchase at CVS. (you can't use them for tax or get money back). Also, if you use ECB's from cottonelle (for example) to buy more cottonelle, often you won't get any more cottonelle ECB's. So, usually, I use ECB's from cottonelle to buy soy joy and then use those ECB's to buy more cottonelle, etc. (just an example). I hope that helps!

Teresa - You must be thinking of Walgreens. At CVS you CAN use ECBs from Cotonelle to pay for cotonelle and still get ECBs, as long as you haven't reached the Limit on ECBs.

Thank you...I think I am going to try to do this and see if it works at our CVS here (we just got one!)

Thanks again!

LilKim,
Yay! I didn't realize that! Thanks!!! :)

Just did the cottonelle at CVS but the manager there was under the impression that the sale was over last week and did not have them on the shelves. He told us they were not producing any ECBs but lo and behold they sure did. Make sure you ask for them if they're not on the shelves.

I went to my CVS and the cottonelle asn't marked the sale price. They are marked 15.99. I asked a friend that works there and she scanned them for me. They were on sale for the 12.88. I bought 2. on the bottom of my receipt it says
"Cottonelle, Buy 1 get 3 EB
Quanity towards theis reward 2
Quantity needed to earn reward 1"

Does this mean I can buy 1 more at the 12.88 (since there is a limit of 3 and I only bought 2) and I can get 1 for free? The same thing printed when I bought the excederin bonus deal. I bought 3 and it says I still need 1 more to earn reward. So I'm thinking I shoulg get 1 for free. I'm a little confused about this. What is your opinion?

Everyone,
Keep in mind this sale just started yesterday and there are so many items included, your store may not have all the signs up yet.

The limit on the Cottonelle is 3. If you already bought two, your receipt will show that you can buy one more at the sale price and get extra bucks.

The Charmin is a good deal also and the limit is 6 I believe.

If you don't have any extra bucks to start with I would suggest doing ONLY money-maker deals to build up your extra bucks. I have around $60 in ECB but NEVER go under $25. The idea is to ROLL the bucks into more products that produce extra bucks. Extra bucks are just like cash.

The goal is to keep rolling or increasing your extra bucks! You do this by using COUPONS!

question - i thought the limit for the oust is 4, so how can u get 18 ECB back, would it not only be 3 ECB times 4, for a total of 12. Please clarify. I would like to get on this deal.
Also you mentioned if we have no ECB's we should start off with the ones that make the bucks, what do you suggest? Thank you in advace.

Thank you! I did it today and I got back $18 ECB for the Oust jsut like you said. At my CVS though it was Charmin on the $4 ECB deal not Cottenelle. Still good though and still did that one too! Thanks!!

I did the deal also. I bought 6 cans of Oust, 2 GE light bulbs and the cottonelle. The Cottonelle did not generate any ECB but I spent $17 and got $21 back in ECB. Still a great deal. Thanks so much for the headsup on this one, we were out of toilet paper...

ok so i went to CVS today to do this deal, i did the second one you suggested with TP and 6 cans of oust. I only got back 4 ECB for the TP and 9 ECB for the oust, cause the limit said 3 on the shelf, and I figure let me try it, and see if it will generate. And of course my luck it did not, i got 9 ECB back and not 18. So I dont think this makes for a good deal. Sucks. Now what can i do? Should I return the oust? Not sure how returns work when you use coupons and get back ECB's. Or should Ic all CVS customer service and ask them about it, but I need proof i guess that the limit is 6 indeed. Any suggestions would be great.
Thanks.

hi i had bogo oust coupons I bought 4 cans but the $3.oo ECB was limited to 3 cans so the last can no ECB. still came away with a good deal

Anu,
I did the exact same thing with the oust. I bought 6 and only got 9ebs. I returned 4 of them. They have you keep the 9 eb's, the give you the amount you paid back onto your credit card and if you used EB's to pay, they put that amount onto a gift card. You may think you are making out with keeping the 9EB's, but realize that they deduct that amount from you quarterly savings EBs...make sense?
