Dave Ramsey: More than Enough FREE +Shipping

If you follow Dave Ramsey, or would like to see what the Dave Ramsey buzz is about, you might look into this deal.  Yesterday, there was a coupon code (enough) to get Dave's book More than Enough for FREE, with just $5.99 shipping.  The code quickly died---or maybe not!

Christy called customer service and found out that the deal is still available.  You'll just have to call and ask for it.

Now, I would love --LOVE-- to hear your opinions on the Dave Ramsey books and way of life.  I have recently heard from several readers on this topic and have found the opinions of others to be quite interesting!  So leave a comment and tell us what you think!  Please keep your comments clean and unoffensive!

I love Dave Ramsey. We have a couple of his books. I think that some of his ideas are not practical though, at least for us. For example, driving a "beater" We live in the center point of all of the places that we go to, church is one hour away northwest, my dad & husbands work is one hour away south, my mom lives one hour away east. So for us to move closer something would be sacrificed, so we just live in the middle of it all and drive everywhere so with that we need a dependable car especially if I go somewhere with my one year old daughter.

Other than that his ideas are great and take an extreme amount of discipline, and sometimes we just don't have that. But I love Dave Ramsey!

I am currently reading my first Dave Ramsey book. I must say, I was a skeptic. I have loved some of his ideas, have found some to be common sense ideas that my parents lived by, and some of them are just plain NOT DOABLE!

It really all depends on what you are willing to do!

I also just read a book by Dave Ramsey....I don't think I will read another one. While I think he is on to something, I just don't find what he preaches a lifestyle that I would like to live! I feel that dependable cars are a necessity when you have a professional career. I can't just not show up to work because my beater didn't start up! Let alone be stranded somewhere with kids! Also, I guess in his mind, I am materialistic. While there is nothing wrong with shopping at Goodwill stores, I have to have career clothing and I insist that my children are dressed nicely as well! While it is not necessary to have a closet full of clothes, when you work outside the home, 3 outfits just don't cut it!
One thing I did like is his approach about credit card debt! Although I do not have any, he did have a good system that people could utilize to pay it off!

Overall, I will not be reading another one of his books! I tend to have the idea that time on this earth is short ~ and I have never seen a hearse with a luggage rack; so I guess none of it is going with me ;)

i have found it hard to maintain that level of discipline over my finances. its the getting started that is easy- when you are enthusiastic and excited about this adventure, it is easy to make the sacrifices and buckle down. after awhile all the sacrificing begins to wear you down and i have found it difficult to stay with it. however, some progress each month is still progress; and doing something is better than doing nothing so i try to remember that one or two splurges every now and again wont undo all that we are trying to accomplish. i have incorporated some of his ideas; but mostly we just try to live reasonably.

I have felt that for the most part it is common sense stuff for most people. For those that it isn't common sense for, I don't know if they will follow it/finish reading the book anyway. There was nothing eye-opening for me, though I do like the idea of living debt free.

We went through Dave Ramsey's Financial Peace University 18 months ago and it was life changing. Next month we will be finished paying off all of our debt! $45,000 in 18 months! It has not been easy. We have worked lots of overtime and given up lots of things we used to think we couldn't do with out. That's how I originally got into couponing. People have made fun of us along the way for our drastic change in life style, but it has totally been worth it. Those people that trully care about us have seen the change in our life, not only in finances but with each other and our children. Money really does effect every aspect of your life and you don't even realize it until you are trully paying attention to your finances. For those that tink we went crazy... We are about to debt free and they are still making car and credit card payments.

While I agree that it is difficult for people to become rich off his system, he truly is an inspiration for my family. My husband and I were both unemployed about 16 months ago and fell thousands in debt with credit cards and barely could keep up with our bills. We now have no debt and have paid off over $15,000 of that debt, with next to nothing left. I read his books when I feel I need another boost towards a healthy spending lifestyle.

I shop at Goodwill and find really nice clothes for my family. I work in an office and have gotten compliments on the clothes (that I bought at Goodwill). You just have to take the time to look through all the racks!

I am reading his book Financial Peace right now. I found it at Goodwill! I have implemented the "snowball" debt elemination and LOVE IT! It is truly exciting to see the progress and it gives me alot of hope knowing that I can literally see the end and it is near!
