Homemade Christmas Ornaments

If you are getting a real tree this year, you might consider keeping the "Tree Circle" cutting from the bottom of your tree.  Family Fun has a great tutorial on how to decorate the circle from the bottom of your tree to turn it into a cute ornament!  This would be a very inexpensive way to remember each tree you picked out and the year.

After 11+ years of traditionally bringing in a real tree, last year I decided to buy an artificial tree.  This was met with resistance from my family, however it was so much easier and will save us money in the long run.  My kids took great joy in reminiscing with all of the ornaments this year, especially the ones with lots of things written about them.  We have a tradition of making and/or buying ornaments each year, writing names and dates on them.

I found these time capsule ornaments online at Family Fun and think they'd make a wonderful tradition for each child.  You can find the easy instructions HERE.

Is your tree real or artificial this year?  What are your family traditions with ornaments?

We also got a real tree for years. I got an artificial tree this year and was pleased how much easier it was for me.
