What's for Dinner??

Slow-Cookers, Casseroles & Skillets: Simmered, stirred or sizzling?over 200 easy dinner recipes for family & friends to share.

I recently purchased the Slow-Cookers, Casseroles & Skillets: Simmered, stirred or sizzling? "over 200 easy dinner recipes for family & friends to share". cookbook! Gooseberry Patch recipes are proven winners at our house. Many of our favorite dishes have come from these books!

I will be giving this cookbook away to one lucky reader who leaves a comment (with email) and shares their dinner menu--or lack of dinner menu, in the comments. The winner will be chosen on Friday, February 18. You can gain one entry per day until then by commenting in each "What's for Dinner?" post!

Today's Meal:
Homemade Beef Barley Soup
Cornbread

This will be my first attempt to cook barley.  I am hopeful!

What's on your menu?

I think dinner may be beef stew with lots of vegetables. Warm and inexpensive with leftovers!

Dinner is going to be chicken in the crockpot with potatoes and carrots.
I'm not really good at meal planning.

I'm cheating. We're visiting our friend in Kent (45 mins away from Cleveland) and getting Denny's out there with him.

But I do have coupons saved up for B1G1 entrees, 20% off, or $5 off $25. Whichever gets us the best deal.

We are having leftovers from 2 nights ago...baked rigatoni. I love pasta casseroles since they make great leftovers and my kids will gobble them right up!!!

My planned meals have not been made some nights this week and we ate something else so I am going to try again on the Italian black beans and rice and cornbread with green beans and a salad.

I also got an awesome crockpot for Christmas from my sister!!! I haven't tried it yet because I haven't had time to look for some recipes! Hopefully, I'll get this book and start cooking! :-)
Tonight I am thinking to make lasagna. This goes well with my husband and my son.

What's for supper...no clue. My husband works 2nd shift so whatever I make he doesn't eat until the next day...and unfortunately not everything tastes good reheated. But on the other hand, I am a huge fan of the Gooseberry cookbooks..all the recipes are easy to follow and contain ingredients that most have in their cabinets.

Dinner tonight was Kale and white bean soup with Turkey Kielbasa-takes no time to put together, pair with a salad or some crusty bread-it is so good when it's cold like this.

I've cooked up some hamburger and
some beef stew meat.
Haven't decided what to make with it exactly.
Want to make chili w/ the stew meat & probably spaghetti w/ hamburger.

Thanks for the giveaway.
