I'm limping along on just a few groceries for the week. It is a lesson in using what we have on hand and being creative!
Pierogies
Boiled Cabbage (by request)
Kielbassa
Green Beans or Broccoli
I have never made boiled cabbage, nor do I look forward to eating it. This is something my MIL must make because my husband asked me why I never make it :(

This recipe is terrific (even better if you add cheese lol), but since I tried the cabbage cooking method in this recipe, I haven't cooked it any other way. It's delicious.
In the south we call it steamed cabbage even though we don't steam it. I just do a large chop-about 1 inch pieces and put it in a saucepan, add water almost up to the top. You need some fat, bacon grease is really good :), I usually put about a tablespoon of real better and salt and plenty of pepper. Bring to a boil and then cover and simmer for about 20 minutes if you like it really tender or 15 if you want more firmness to the cabbage. Yum! Going to have to get some cabbage and make this soon, you made me hungry for it!
Hamburger gravy and mashed potatoes
green beans

We have a frozen pizza in the freezer and even though I have NO desire to eat it (kind of a concession to get it in the first place), we will be doing a spinach pizza for dinner. Blah.
