We are currently DirecTV customers and feel we are getting a great deal.  While I could do without TV entirely, my husband has another opinion.  He is in charge of making sure we are getting a competitive deal for the package we get.  He often checks Dish Network deals and calls DirecTV, and most of the time they will honor the promotion for us.  We also have a DVR which is a huge PLUS.  It is the main reason we never, ever buy movies or DVDs.
