What is Nielsen Home Scan?
Once your application is approved, Nielsen will send you a free packet that includes the handheld scanner above. You will then enter information about your shopping purchases and scan items you purchase. Uploading that information to the Nielsen website will earn you points that you can cash in for all kinds of items and gift cards!
If you have a landline phone...APPLY HERE! If you don't have a landline, but use a cell phone...APPLY HERE.
If you choose not to continue with the program, you can return the scanner free of charge! There is no obligation to continue the program. If you do decide to stay with the program, you can work at your own pace, on your own schedule.

Why does every frugal blog promote this program? Is there a referal commission? Countless people have stated that it is too time consuming and they have to enter prices and coupons used for each item. Hours of work for some points that take years to get a free toaster!

My mother does this program and loves it. I don't wish to do it because it is time consuming, but she does.

Is there other things with this company that you can do. I have heard something about wearing a microphone so that they can listen to what you watch on TV and the radio and get paid. Have you heard anything about this type of thing with this company, or anything else that you can do with this company for a little extra money?
