Is Walmart Becoming More Coupon Friendly??

Several readers have mentioned seeing new signs at Walmart that read "Got Coupons?" encouraging you to use your coupons!  That's a great sign that Walmart is now going to be more coupon friendly - maybe.

Today a loyal reader let me know she has been receiving coupons in the mail with her Walmart Credit Card Statement!  She has received coupons for the last three months!  Here is what she got for the November statement:

All Expire 01/02/2011
0.25/1 Peter Pan Peanut Butter
$1/4 Hunts Diced Tomatoes
$1/1 Marie Callendars Pies
$1/4 Rotel diced tomatoes
$1/2 Swiss Miss Hot Cocoa
0.25/1 Pam nonstick cooking spray

So, does your Walmart have a friendly coupon policy??

Thanks, Cindy aka "Carolina Girl"!

I was actually thinking about doing an opposite post. Remember a couple of months back when you had to be one on the first how many ever to get a free rechargeable battery coupon. Value $12.99. I got one and my Walmart will not honor it because they say corporate has told them all coupons that allow you to get a product free are fraudulant.

At my Walmart, it depends on the cashier...some are really great about it, and some are ignorant about it. I have noticed that MANY, MANY of the items I used to buy at Walmart with coupons are no longer carried. Just one example that comes to mind is Popcorn. I used to buy Pop Secret at Walmart with coupons. They now carry 2 brands of popcorn....THEIR brand and Orville Redenbacher. A LOT of items are no longer carried, and more and more stuff is available in THEIR brand, but not the big name-brands. They carried Bimbo brand Bread for about 1 month, and no longer carry it...that was the ONLY bread my Walmart carried that there were coupons available for. Maybe they keep track of the items that coupons are used for the most, then drop that brand and replace it with their own....I really don't know, but I have been so frustrated the last few times I tried to shop for groceries there, that I am considering not even bothering with them any more. I have heard A LOT of people complaining about how they stopped carrying items they always bought there.

I haven't been shopping at Walmart much lately, but I have noticed with the new remodel, some changes that have affected grocery.

Similarly, I have been looking for Purdue chicken nuggets and many other things i use coupons for and, none found!

I don't see how that makes people happy, but the place is always packed.

At the Walmart I shop at I am able to use any coupon, even competitors, and have been able to get some great deals, though it there are things that you jus cannot find there. I regualrly receive Albertson's preferred card coupons for $4.00 off a $40.00 purchase and use them at walmart with other coupons if I don't like the sale at Albertson's for that week.

WALMART IS CRAP NOW. IT SAYS IT ACCEPTS COMPETITORS COUPONS. THATS A LIE, BECAUSE THEY WOULD NOT ALLOW ME TO USE TARGET COUPONS.

I had to tussle with Walmart cashiers the other day to use a coupon for free Barilla pasta that was mailed from Vocal Point and printed on glossy paper, not a printable. I dont get why stores freak out over any coupon that says "free" but yet they will let you use a $1 coupon on a $1 item without any problem.
