I made them last year and they were a huge hit, however the cookies were very soft and fell apart rather easily. I am planning to make these again this year with a firmer sugar cookie recipe.
If you are short on time you may want to consider creating the same look with quick sugar cookie mix.

I made these last year using my own sugar cookie and icing recipe, and they were soooooo cute!!! Also very easy. I gave them to friends and neighbors wrapped in cellophane bags-this year I am making one for each of my coworkers (only 9 of them). Wonderful-I am so glad you posted this idea again!!
