garlic bread sticks
maybe I will bake something for dessert today-definately chocolate
I took Momma-lana's advice from last week & started a menu plan with the kids. They each were able to choose a night & I helped them with the sides. Hub's was so excited, he wanted a turn to request something. Thanks for your input & inspiration!
Tonight 7yo request:
hamburgers
fruit salad
roasted potatoes
cucumbers
Think I'll surprise them with a strawberry rhubarb crisp (I have 7 cartons of strawberries to use up), if I get done with all my batch cooking today.
Yeah! Good for you Stephanie! And you can save this weeks menu and reuse it in a few weeks if you want to!
I did make chocolate cupcakes today. First thing I've baked since Christmas since we've been trying to cut back on sugar. Hubby will be so surprised!
Here is another way I used to menu plan-
As you plan meals write each menu on a 3x5 card and then keep them in a file box under headings like beef, pork, chicken, quick, slow cooker, etc. Then you can just go through the box and pull out 7 cards for the week.
Sorry to have hogged the comments today!
Baked pork chops, stuffing and steamed carrots. (& leftover blueberry cheesecake from my birthday!)
Thanks Momma-Lana! The boys are so excited & its only day 1. They have been talking about what they are going to choose next. ITs nice for them to be excited over it & pressure off me! Once I get this going, I think I'm going to have the one who chooses them menu to help with it that day & they can be chef of the day.
Stephanie- Kids love to be involved in food! I really cheated doing this since I raised 5 and by the time hubby had his say I pretty much had the week planned! My day just always goes better if I know what is for dinner even now that it is just the 2 of us.
What is an aero garden?
