I actually had two first dates with my wife. The first when I was 19. We got together with a group of friends an watched "Pillow Talk". It was a blast and I think everybody talked more than actually watched the movie. The second "first" date we had was when I was 21 after I came home from living in the Philippines for two years. My wife cooked me a pasta and salad dinner. We cuddled and watched a movie. It was a wonderful evening.

My advise for a fun date night at home: No kids! If you have children, arrange a babysitter. This is a time for you and your significant other to connect and bond with each other. Popcorn and movies are always great. Card/boardgames are always fun. Focus on your love and be attentive.

I have to say a date night with the hubby would have to involve having the kids spend the night with Grandma so we can sit down with a movie. It never fails that when we plan a date night, the little ones don't want to go to bed, or they get up...so we're just exhausted by the time everyone gets settled in and fall asleep before the movie.

Number one if you can't get someone to watch the kids have them go to bed early. Set up blankets and fluffy pillows on the floor in front of TV and watch a nice movie together and snuggle up. Get a special desert that you both like and share it while watching the movie. Laugh and have fun!
