first date with hubby was actually our wedding, as it was an arranged marriage :)
the best home-date-night is after the kids go down, lights off, candles on, fresh popcorn and a movie!

Our first date (before marriage) was at the lake on 4th of July...it was kind of a group thing, but we were only there for each other ;o)
I actually had two first dates with my wife. The first when I was 19. We got together with a group of friends an watched "Pillow Talk". It was a blast and I think everybody talked more than actually watched the movie. The second "first" date we had was when I was 21 after I came home from living in the Philippines for two years. My wife cooked me a pasta and salad dinner. We cuddled and watched a movie. It was a wonderful evening.

We actually like to decorate/redecorate the house and look at home videos/magazines =) We're lame! LOL!
My advise for a fun date night at home: No kids! If you have children, arrange a babysitter. This is a time for you and your significant other to connect and bond with each other. Popcorn and movies are always great. Card/boardgames are always fun. Focus on your love and be attentive.

First date: romantic dinner at Omni Palm Court room.
romantic evening at home with fire in fireplace and candles and great meal.
We went to a Lonestar concert and out to a pizza joint. We were supposed to go to a nice restaurant before our concert, however, my husband (then my date) got hit by a car on the way home from work before our date, so we just settled for pizza so we wouldn't be late for the concert.

I have to say a date night with the hubby would have to involve having the kids spend the night with Grandma so we can sit down with a movie. It never fails that when we plan a date night, the little ones don't want to go to bed, or they get up...so we're just exhausted by the time everyone gets settled in and fall asleep before the movie.
First date night was dinner and bowling

Number one if you can't get someone to watch the kids have them go to bed early. Set up blankets and fluffy pillows on the floor in front of TV and watch a nice movie together and snuggle up. Get a special desert that you both like and share it while watching the movie. Laugh and have fun!

A tip planning a fun date at home: Relax, have a sense of humor, and be spontanous and flexible! Sometimes, especially when your children can't be sent off to grandma's house for a night, it can be a challenge to get quiet time for two. But a sense of humor and flexiblity go a long way! creedamy at yahoo dot com
